New Walkaround with Jeremy Sprayberry!

We did another walkaround yesterday with Jeremy. Took a few takes though! We had some camera issues where it was filming during our off camera time and NOT filming when we were supposed to be! My fault entirely though, but we got it all fixed and got some great retakes.

After some interupptions too from our coworkers, we got this one out.

History of Studebaker

The Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company opened in 1852 as a wagon producer in Indiana by five brothers. In 1889, President Harrison ordered a full set of carriages and harnesses for the White House. The Budweiser wagons featured in their commercials are actually Studebaker wagons changed to accommodate beer and were made in about 1900.

In 1895, a Studebaker relative, Fred Fish, was urging for practical horseless carriages. He ended up becoming a chairman in 1897 when one of the brothers died and right away he had the company get started on an electric vehicle. The first one came out in 1902. They started making gas powered in 1904 and electric was discontinued in 1911, when the brand was officially established. In the coming years Studebaker began to produce truck lines, buses, fire engines, and small rail trains.

Sales were absolutely amazing for Studebaker in the 1920s before the Great Depression. The 1930's saw cut wages and layoffs for the company, much like the rest of the country. Studebaker tried to sell a small low cost car but it was too bad of an economy for even that to sell well. By 1933, the company owned the banks six million dollars and the Studebaker president committed suicide. It was only later that year though that the company began picking up again. Sales doubled between 1938 and 1939.

During World War II, they were known for making large amounts of trucks and the unusual M29 Weasel for the war effort. The Studebaker team was well prepared for the market after the war with new cars and a new ad campaign.

However, this superb post war team was gone by 1949 and the new executives were not prepared for the challenges that General Motors and Ford presented. At this time, Ford and GM were having their price war that individual dealerships could just not compete with. Many independent companies saw this as “Merge or die”. By 1950, sales were dropping quickly and four years later, they were drastically losing money. They planned to have Packard take over Studebaker.

Studebaker wasn't exactly honest with Packard about just had bad its finances were though. By 1956, they were going bankrupt. They tried to stay afloat with redesigns but it was obvious that the company just couldn't last. Sales continued to drop throughout the 60s and they finally disappeared from the market in 1967.

It has a great AutoCheck record: one owner, no accident, and a high score of 94.

Sexy, the Corvette will look even better speeding down the road and sounds absolutely amazing. Tight gripping, it has excellent handling and braking. It has RWD and "very fast" can't even begin to explain the Corvette's speed. The exterior is a beautiful arctic white and the cabin is black.

An automatic, the Corvette comes with the 6.2L V-8 cyl engine.

The interior is driver oriented and comes well equipped, seating two. Some of the features include
automatic temperature control

good sound system
and lots of safety features.

It has a great reliability record and takes premium gas, getting 16 City and 26 highway MPG. The Corvette is stock #100898

Wish List: 2014 Nissan GT-R Coupe Track Edition

Asked another salesman about his dream car today! This one was a bit more difficult. He doesn't just have "One car" for him, he has dozens. It took some coaxing for him just to pick one in a REASONABLE amount of time!

He landed on the 2014 Nissan GT-R Coupe Track Edition.. Good choice, I think

We decided to go with the most expensive version. After all, this is a wish list. Labeled a "world class supercar", the GT-R comes with a 3.8L V6 Cyl engine and 545 horsepower. It has AWD and ALL the options. The only difference between the Track and Black edition is that the Track is more competition ready.

First released in 2007, it was a successor to the iconic Skyline GT-R. While is not badged with the Skyline name, the current GT-R certaintly has its roots in that line. They are both nicknamed "Godzilla". Between 2008 and 2012, Nissan produced only 5,336. It holds the record for the fastest 0-60 MPH with Guinness.

The MSRP of the 2014 is $115,710 on Nissan's website. We decided to go ahead and "build" one. We picked all the accessories and came to a final price of $119,490. If we wanted to finance it? The monthly payment would be $2,184 over 60 months!!!!

Currently, there is actually an auction for Paul Walker's GT-R featured in the Fast and Furious 4. It is going for $1.35 million.

Ever Heard of JamesList?

Have you ever heard of "JamesList", formerly known as James Edition? It's like Craigslist except you definitely won't find any free stuff there! It advertises itself as "The World's Luxury Marketplace" and it truly is.

Some of the sections include: Cars, motorcycles, watches, yachts, jets, helicopters, real estate, jewelry, and travel. There are a few other sections as well, and it really is a site you can get to fantasizing on! We spent some time looking and found quite a few things to fall in love with.

A few items are P.O.R, or price on request, but many have prices.

This 2003 Ferrari Enzo is priced at $2,599,000! It has only 7,919 miles and being sold by CNC Motors. Click the picture to see more about it and other pictures.

In need of a helicopter? This 2005 Eurocopter EC130 is only $1,850,000! Click to see more

Our favorite section (aside from the cars of course) was the Real Estate. Because it was a lot of fun looking at the islands they have for sale! Who wouldn't want their own island?? The island we originally wanted seems to have sold since we last saw it. The selling feature was that it had it's own cannon!

But this one is amazing too! The Sturdivant Island, Maine. It's listed at $2,250,000 and sold by The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty. Click the pic to see more

Check out JamesEdition and leave a comment: Which thing on the website would you want most? I'm sure there is a lot you'd fall in love with!
