A Quick History - Hummer

Hummers were a brand of trucks and SUVs
popular in the 90s and early 00s made by AM General and GM. They were
originally designed under contract with the United States military.
AM General decided to market the Hummer to the civilian market.

purchased the division in 1998, but the Hummer only continued for 10
more years.

Due to the high fuel costs, SUV demand
dropped sharply and with it, the Hummer. When GM was dealing with the
economic crisis in the 00s, part of their restructuring plan was to
get rid of the vehicle. Sales attempts collapsed though and 2010, the
last Hummer was produced.
