Land Rover is a British company known
for their four wheel drive vehicles. It is the 2nd oldest
4WD brand in the world behind Jeep.

The brand was actually started in 1948
with one specific model known as the Land Rover, from the Rover
Company. Originally inspired by the American Jeep, a large range was developed
over the next years, and the Land Rover Company was finally founded
in 1978.

The Rover Group was owned by BMW in
1994 and six years later, the company was broken up. Land Rover was
sold to Ford. In 2008, as part of their response to the economic
crisis, Ford sold Land Rover along with Jaguar to Tata Motors.
