A Quick History - GMC


General Motors was founded by William Durant in 1908 as a holding company for Buick. In 1909, he purchased Rapid Motor Vehicle company to form the basis for General Motors Truck Company, where GMC Truck is derived.

The first GMC truck appeared in 1912. Throughout World War II, the company supplied 600,000 trucks to the military.

Today, they are often considered identical to Chevrolet cars except for grills and name plates. They offer SUVs, pick up trucks, vans, light duty trucks, and medium duty trucks.
