A Quick History - Acura

Acura, produced by Honda, was the first luxury vehicle made in Japan. Introduced in the United States in March of 1986, Acura quickly became the best selling luxury car. Toyota and Nissan quickly responded with their own luxury lines in the Lexus and Infiniti.

In the mid to late 90s, sales began to decline for the Acura. Critics largely blame the uninspiring designs for this. However, during this time, Japan was experiencing a huge decline in the economy and Honda was feeling the pressure. This may have had a large influence on the cars' designs.

There was a revival in the 2000s, with plenty of redesigns and new models and the Acura's sales quickly improved. Today, Acura luxury vehicles remain a popular vehicle and they continue to “Advance”.
