Chrysler Group was founded by Walter Chrysler in 1925. In 1928, the company decided to divide its vehicles by price, class, and function. Plymouth became the low priced end and DeSoto in the middle. Dodge was also purchased that year and throughout the 30s, traded places with the DeSoto often.
