Hyundai is a Korean Car manufacturer
that also owns Kia. Chung Ju-Yang originally founded Hyundai as a
construction company in 1947 and the Motor Company was established 20
years later in 1967.

Their first vehicle was developed with
Ford in 1968 and known as the Cortina.

However, Hyundai wanted to
design their own car and in 1975, they introduced the first Korean
car, The Pony. The Pony actually never made it to the United States
because it couldn't pass emission standards. It was a big hit in
Canada though! It passed sales expectations and actually became a top
selling car in the country.

Finally, in 1986, Hyundai began selling
in the United States and became known for their affordability. Today,
the company continues to grow. It is the fourth largest car
manufacturer in the world, and without Kia, it is the 8th.
